About the engagement

Bandpey GmbH is a data and AI software company in Munich, Germany. For a client in Germany we are looking for an experienced test automation freelancer to work on medical software products. The estate spans C++ desktop applications, .NET and modern web. The work covers automated test strategy across multiple layers, CI pipelines, and stress and performance testing, with a priority on reliable feedback to the development teams at scale.

What you will do
  • Design and own end-to-end automated test strategies across the test layers: unit, integration, system, UI, stress and performance.
  • Build and maintain test harnesses and CI pipelines that catch regressions early, run reliably at scale and give fast feedback across the C++ desktop, .NET and web estates.
  • Design and run stress and performance tests, identify bottlenecks and stability risks, and work with engineering on measurable quality improvements.
  • Work with developers, architects and product management, and support test-driven, shift-left engineering practices.
  • Use AI coding agents such as Claude Code to generate, maintain and triage tests, and build automation skills and workflows the wider QA team can reuse.
What you bring
  • Several years of senior test automation experience, with a solid grasp of multi-layered test frameworks, stress testing and performance testing.
  • Strong programming skills in at least one of C#, Java, Python or TypeScript.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control and modern test tooling, for example Ranorex, Playwright, Cypress and GitLab CI.
  • A strong problem-solving orientation and a quality-first working style.
Nice to have
  • C# experience and penetration-testing skills.
  • ISTQB or an equivalent certification.
  • Hands-on experience with Claude Code or similar agentic tools, including building agents, skills and workflows; familiarity with AI pipelines, harnesses and context engineering.
  • A background in regulated or healthcare software.
Engagement details
  • Six months, full-time, starting as soon as possible.
  • Remote from within the EU.
  • Fluent English required; German is an advantage.
