About the engagement

Bandpey GmbH is a data and AI software company in Munich, Germany. For a client in Germany we are looking for several experienced Senior Java Developers with strong backend engineering skills. You will work on modern healthcare software platforms, building reliable and scalable services, improving existing applications and contributing to cloud-native delivery. We are hiring quickly and will move fast through the selection process.

What you will do
  • Build and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Design and develop REST APIs and service integrations.
  • Modernize and improve existing healthcare software applications.
  • Analyse existing code, technical debt, performance and stability issues.
  • Build maintainable, testable, production-ready software.
  • Work with relational databases and SQL.
  • Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD and modern engineering workflows.
  • Work with microservices and distributed systems.
  • Collaborate closely with architecture, QA, product and engineering teams.
  • Use AI coding tools such as Claude Code or similar for development, refactoring, testing and code analysis.
What you bring
  • Several years of senior-level Java development experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Strong experience building REST APIs and backend services.
  • Good understanding of software architecture, clean code and automated testing.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL.
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD workflows.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
  • Experience with microservices and distributed systems.
  • Experience with Kafka or event-driven architectures.
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Terraform, Helm or ArgoCD.
  • Experience modernizing existing or legacy Java applications.
  • Experience with Claude Code or similar AI coding tools.
  • Healthcare, medical software or other regulated-software experience.
Engagement details
  • Full-time contract; several positions available.
  • Remote; you must be able to work from within the EU.
  • Fluent English required; German is an advantage.
