About Bandpey

Bandpey GmbH is an international data and AI software company in Munich, Germany. We build agent-first products, Facthory, Emolysis, Copolly and Inteliwert, and we design, build and operate production AI systems for enterprises.

The role

Forward deployed engineers are where our products meet real work. You sit with a client's operators, engineers and decision makers, find the workflow where AI can change the outcome, and build the system that does it: agents, tools, integrations, evaluations and the infrastructure to run them. You write production code, not slide decks, and you stay until the system is used.

What you will do
  • Work directly with client teams to understand their workflows, data and constraints, and agree what a useful first release looks like.
  • Design and build production AI systems: agents, retrieval and knowledge pipelines, tool integrations, evaluations and guardrails.
  • Deploy Facthory, Emolysis, Copolly or Inteliwert where they fit, and build the engineering around them where they do not.
  • Prototype quickly to answer the hardest questions early, then harden what works into reliable, observable software.
  • Own releases with the client from start to finish: deployment, monitoring, incident response and handover.
  • Turn what you learn in the field into product feedback, reusable components and better defaults for the whole team.
What you bring
  • Several years of hands-on software engineering, including production systems you designed, shipped and operated.
  • Strong programming skills in Python or TypeScript; Rust is a plus.
  • Experience building with large language models in production: context engineering, tool use, retrieval and evaluations.
  • Comfort across the stack: APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud, Azure or AWS, containers and CI/CD.
  • The judgement to scope ambiguous problems, and the communication skills to explain trade-offs to engineers and executives alike.
  • Willingness to work on site with clients in Europe when the work needs it.
  • Fluent English. German is a strong plus.
Nice to have
  • Experience as a forward deployed, solutions or field engineer, or as an early engineer at a start-up.
  • Hands-on experience with agent harnesses, the Model Context Protocol and AI coding agents such as Claude Code.
  • Data engineering experience with Databricks, Spark or a lakehouse.
  • A background in regulated industries such as healthcare, financial services or manufacturing.
